Well the call came around noon today. My surgery has been scheduled for 6 weeks from now - July 26. Hooray and thanks to all of you who have been praying. And thank You Lord for giving me something to focus on.
Hi Pastor Pat, I often think of Joyce. I didn't know her personally, and the times I spoke to her I could count in one hand. But I did admire her wisdom and her choice of words during the women's bible study or the women's retreat. I had made her a small gift a few months before she passed and she left me a thank you message on my answering machine, which I still have. I can't bear to listen to it and yet I can't bear to erase it. She was going thru her pain from her illnes and still she called to thank me. That tells you a lot about the type of person she was. Always thinking of others first before herself. I think that is one of the things I admired about her. She seemed to always be sincere in what she did or said. I just wanted you to know that Joyce had an impact not only on the people she knew, but on those who did not know her but listened to her speak. The Lord bless you and keep you in His arms.
